In addition to physical injuries and illnesses, it also refers to psychological impairments caused by an injury. It even includes damage caused to any medically essential wearable device, such as a pacemaker or a hearing aid.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Israeli tort law distinguishes between a <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/script_transfer_new.mowfns.ap-southeast-2.wpstaqhosting.com\/en\/road-accident-victims\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">physical injury caused by an auto accident<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> and bodily damage caused by other circumstances. In the case of a car accident, the liability of compensation is on the offender whose misbehavior caused the accident. In Israel, it is <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nevo.co.il\/law_html\/law00\/74501.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">legally compulsory<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0for the owner of any motor vehicle to purchase auto insurance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Per the<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nevo.co.il\/law_html\/law00\/4554.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Israel Road Accident Victims Compensation Law 1975<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">,<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">the offender\u2019s insurance company should pay your medical bills and compensate you for your lost wages resulting from a car accident. All the drivers, passengers, and pedestrians involved in the accident are entitled to compensation<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Even if you caused the accident, your auto insurance company must still compensate you for your physical injuries. However, you would not receive compensation if you were uninsured, were driving without a valid license for that type of vehicle, or if you caused the crash deliberately.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The law imposes coverage limits on the compensation given. For instance, the damages for lost earnings are capped at three times the average wage in Israel &#8211; even if the injured person has a larger salary.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Car insurance coverage<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Note that there are three different categories of car insurance in Israel. \u201cCompulsory insurance\u201d (<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">bituach chova)<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0covers only bodily damage and not property damages. \u201cThird-party insurance\u201d covers property damage caused to another person\u2019s vehicle. Whereas \u201ccomprehensive insurance\u201d covers all vehicular property damage, including damage to your vehicle. The insurance policy may or may not include roadside assistance and towing services. When considering an insurance quote, make sure that it provides you with the type of coverage you need.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">How to file a bodily injury claim in Israel after a hit-and-run<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In the case of a hit-and-run, you can still claim damages for your injury. The State of Israel has established a special public compensation fund from which you can claim damages named\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.karnit.co.il\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Karnit &#8211; Road Accident Victims Compensation Fund<\/span><\/em><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. Therefore, you would file the claim against your employer\u2019s insurance company in Israel.
